The eMerge team is continuing Business Process Analysis (BPA) for the initial phase of the LEAPForward project. The team is focusing its current efforts on Financial Aid and Student Accounts processes. LEAPForward is a three to five year effort to create the next-generation administrative enterprise architecture for Illinois State University. eMerge has been charged with identifying, documenting, and streamlining business processes related to student services and administration.
Representatives from Transforming Solutions, Inc. (TSI) are on-site to assist the eMerge team with establishing a Business Process Competency Center (BPCC). TSI has worked with many universities across the country in helping with Business Process Improvement initiatives. TSI is also assisting the team in the initial phase of the LEAPForward project.
The entire eMerge team participated in a week-long training session on LEAN initiatives and principles. LEAN is a set of management practices that focuses on eliminating waste and non-value-added activity through continuous improvement. eMerge looks forward to incorporating LEAN principles in its Business Process Improvement efforts at the University.
